Presidential candidate John Edwards is a progressive populist who supports strengthening unions, raising the minimum wage, Universal Health coverage and programs that offer a hand up, rather than a handout to lift people out of poverty in effort to build one America for all of us.

Edwards is for initiating an immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq, beginning with 40-50k troops bringing the remainder home within 18 months. Edwards has called on Congress to block the funding for the escalation and believes there is no military solution for Iraq, but only a political solution. Edwards strongly supports exhausting all measures of diplomacy when dealing with foreign natons, both our allies and others.
